About Jack
HI! My name is Jack and I use she/they pronouns (yes Jack; not Jacky or Jax. Quite unconventional, I know, but that's the way I like it!)
I was given the name “Jack” before my gender was known at birth, which is now very fitting as a gender noncomforming individual. Somehow, I feel my mom knew all along that I would need a universal name. There are so many things about my identity that make me the passionate human being I am, and I couldn’t imagine it any other way! Along with being gender nonconforming, I am Jewish and Neurodivergent! I feel so lucky to be able to express my identity through art and performance, and to be a part of these communities I identify with! These communities have brought me strength and empowerment that I couldn’t be more grateful for.
My name is not the only thing my mom gifted me. She also passed along a love for singing rock music! My parents were in a rock band when I was a child with my mom as the lead singer. I grew up hearing her sing songs that were traditionally sung by men and also transforming songs into powerful rock music! After I heard her sing the Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies rocked out cover of “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” I was hooked. I knew I wanted to sing exactly like that. That’s how I found music theater, through rock and jukebox musicals! Since then, I have found such a deep love for the medium.
Some of my favorite musicals include Falsettos, & Juliet, and Assassins. When I am not performing, I find a lot of joy in exploring self expression through makeup and also creating makeup designs. Recently, I have also been spending time learning more about curly hair and how to take care of my curls after years of straightening it.
Above all, I love spending time with my loved ones. I am so lucky to be living with some of my best friends right now and my beautiful cat, Beezlebub. Being surrounded by love and laughter makes my heart so full every day, and I strive to make sure everyone I encounter gets to feel the same!
